Miracles
Galatians 3:5
“So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?”
I have been listening to Tauren Wells singing This is what a Miracle Feels Like this morning. I don't know if its the lyrics or my recent PEMF treatment or both but it makes me weepy because my life is what a miracle looks like and so is yours.
I am not a cessationist, believers who believe the miracles of Jesus and the apostles died out with the apostles. 1 Cor 12:10 says, "He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said."(NLT) Not, He only gave miracles to the apostles. Heb 2:4 says salvation is affirmed by miracles. "God also testified to it (salvation) by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will."
So where are the miracles of today? We know that God still heals. I have seen demons cast out. Some places report the dead are being raised but in the good old USA we don't often experience those type of miracles. So where are they??
I would argue that miracles are ALL AROUND YOU. Each of us who has not survived some type of trauma to testify about the power and glory of Jesus, the miracle of resilience and healing and who has not endured some type of trauma?
Every day we wake up is a miracle. Creation is a miracle, the more I understand science the more I'm convinced How do planets and organisms even exist the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics says we should be entropy, but we're not. A miracle? The touch of the Designer's hand. The fact that we haven't totally destroyed the earth yet is a miracle. You are alive, breathing, loving, testifying you are a miracle.
In the song, Tauren sings that the most beautiful stories come from the broken times. Your scars tell your stories and each story is a miracle. So hang on to those testimonies and keep singing in the middle of the night. You are what a miracle looks like.
